I don’t know…how to blog

So it turns out being an adult is expensive.  It is also really complicated.  Guys.  No one told me to expect this stuff.  As a millennial, I feel personally victimized by your inability to make life easier.  Even my iPhone doesn’t have the answers for me.  Are you telling me I have to figure life out by myself?  I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THAT.

In the last year I’ve had to try to learn how to be a mom, how to be a partner in parenthood, how to buy a house…and honestly there are at least like 2 times per 60 minute period when I think to myself the following words:

Which seems pretty heavy when there is another human being depending on you…knowing what you’re doing.

Coupled with the aforementioned expense of living life, particularly in this IMPOSSIBLE Southern California real estate market, I’ve felt the need for a side hustle.  Ideally one that could have multiple benefits for my family and for me.  Motherhood is magical or whatever but I need a damn hobby.  Bad.

So here we are with the need for:

  • more money (ain’t it always the case)
  • a hobby/creative outlet
  • the need to be more self-sufficient and less dependent on my iPhone/others generally

I have been reading and loving lifestyle blogs for the last ten years.  It seems so fun to write about living and mothering and cooking and traveling and learning and ON AND ON.  I bet I won’t make a living from this, but it would be neat to dream about it…

So here is the idea:  I don’t know how to do A LOT of things.  I know how to do some things, but I bet I could learn to do them better.  I plan to try and learn how to do new things, improve old things, improve MYSELF (impossible!  heh heh) and I’ll document each of these processes here!  The goal could be to create a space for whoever wants to learn new things, seek motivation to learn new things or really just find funny memes and dumb jokes.  Let’s see how it goes!
